BT
BT (they/she) has been painting professionally since age 14. Their Pop-Surrealistic style is informed by their many intersections, including gender and race. This hyper-awareness of duality and intersectionality produces heartfelt artwork filled with humorous visual portmanteaus and juxtaposition of styles— lover of movies, Pokémon, the macabre, and the bizarre.
Outside of their artistic practice, BT has many years in the medical field, notably as an Emergency Medical Technician. Their lifelong study of Anatomy and Physiology has culminated in a three-year burgeoning tattoo practice, as well as hosting Figure Drawing sessions as a Blue Cone Studios resident artist.
BT has reached high-profile clients as MoPOP, MTV, and The PNW Pride Foundation. She is a founding member of the “Vivid Matter (Art) Collective”, a contributing artist to Seattle’s landmark BLM mural during the June 2020 protests. Since then, she has been teaching at Pratt Fine Arts Center and installing murals throughout Seattle.
